About Shaza Shelb Alsham

From Homs in Syria, Shaza moved to the UK in 2016 with her husband and three children as part of the UNHCR Resettlement Programme.

Shaza began as a project participant, but soon began volunteering with the Charity, running the Community Cafe on a Saturday morning.

Shaza then received mentoring from another volunteer and gained her Level 1 and 2 Bookeeping qualifications, and began working for the project as a financial assistant.

Since February 2022 Shaza has expanded her role to cover not only financial administration but also general office administration and office management as well as performing crucial outreach to the communities we work with. Shaza holds a Level 2 Community Interpeting qualification and is currently completing Level 3.

Since August 2023 Shaza has been the Operations Manager for the charity, taking on a leadership role which includes management of staff.
